Hollins University welcomes all area residents to use the Wyndham Robertson Library. Guests are invited to use materials within the library; guest borrower cards can be obtained for a charge of $25/year.
Some of the library's electronic databases are also available for public use, within the library building only. For more information about using these databases, ask at the library's first floor Reference desk, or call us at (540)362-7465.
You can see more about guest privileges at the library here.
VIVA Cooperative Borrowing Program: Students and Faculty
Direct on-site borrowing of Hollins books and films is available to current students and faculty who are visiting Hollins, from colleges and universities participating in the cooperative borrowing program sponsored by VIVA, the consortium of nonprofit academic libraries within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

How to apply:
Please present your current college or university I.D. at our library’s first floor Circulation desk, and fill out a guest borrower application. You may be asked to log into your school’s online directory, or present other proof of your current status.
How many items may be checked out, for how long?
- 10 books may be checked out for 28 days, with 1 possible renewal.
- 3 films or other media may be checked out for 28 days, with renewals TBD.
How should items be returned?
You may return items to our library, or to the library at your college or university. Note: if you return items at your college or university, you must return them at least one week before the due date, to give staff the time needed to ship them back to Hollins. If you return them later, you may incur late fines.
What are the charges for late or non-returned items?
See our Borrowing Policies page for late fines and replacement charges. Wyndham Robertson Library will withhold borrowing privileges from any patron who does not comply with our borrowing policies and procedures.
Whom do I contact with questions about these policies?
Our Circulation Coordinator is Karen Ryan, (540)362-6090, email: email@example.com.
